Customers in POCO stores now have the choice between conventional receipts and digital receipts. Since the beginning of 2024, Germany's largest furniture discounter has introduced paperless receipts market by market. They are now available in POCO stores nationwide, reports POCO's Head of Digitalization, Jan Scharbatke. “Digital receipts are now very widely accepted, as they are the more sustainable alternative to paper receipts,” he adds.

Receiving them is very easy: Customers can scan a QR code directly at the cash register to access and save their receipt. It's even easier for registered POCO app users: If the digital customer card is presented here, customers — in addition to loyalty points — automatically receive their receipt by email. This document remains permanently handy and can be used, for example, as part of a tax return.‍

Technical Partner: anybill from Bavaria

When POCO decided to upgrade its own receipt, the company needed a technical partner. They found him in the young Bavarian company Anybill, which has developed numerous digital receipt solutions since the end of 2019. The new solution was iteratively integrated into the existing cash register system.

Lea Frank, co-founder & CEO of anybill, draws a conclusion: “POCO is a pioneer when it comes to digital customer touchpoints and is now going one step further with the digital receipt,” she notes. “POCO has shown a true hands-on mentality, which is particularly reflected in the excellent partnership.” Both Frank and Scharbatke assume that more and more POCO customers will switch to digital receipts and appreciate their benefits.
