Bitkom e.V. - Retail Working Group

The Retail Working Group is dedicated to modern IT topics in order to substantiate far-reaching changes in our everyday business life and to support progressive networking in German trade. Especially in retail, modern technologies enable new sales opportunities and sales markets. Modern connectivity is permanently changing our consumer behavior. This development and the widespread use of smartphones and tablets have already established a way of thinking and consuming in so-called omni-channel concepts. For this reason, direct boundaries between online and offline trade are now difficult to define. Every day, innovative technologies provide new opportunities for collecting, processing and analyzing information from German trade.

The Retail Working Group aims to evaluate new trends in the technology sector and to promote them through jointly identified challenges along the digital supply chain. Networking of key players and an intensive interdisciplinary dialogue about the opportunities and risks of innovative technologies for implementing digital processes are particularly important.

In addition, the AK deals with the question of how companies successfully present themselves against the backdrop of digitalization in order to position themselves on the market in the long term. In doing so, scientifically based research promotes debates about sustainable innovations.

These developments give German retailers an enormous opportunity to take advantage of the demands of their target groups with innovative solutions and alternatives.

We are pleased that Lea Frank represents German startups in the Retail Working Group as a board member and are convinced that with anybill, we are creating a decisive technology for digital networking at the point of sale in order to promote the visibility of stationary retail and establish an environmentally friendly alternative for printed receipts in the future.
