St. Wendel/Munich. GLOBUS now offers my GLOBUS customers the option to receive the printed purchase receipt in digital form at participating GLOBUS market halls. In cooperation with tech start-up anybill, the company thus enables more optimal management and archiving of digital cash receipts and reduces paper consumption.
“Many of our customers want a paperless alternative for the sake of the environment, and we are now accommodating this request and are pleased to have an experienced partner in this area at our side with anybill,” says Thomas Hewer, spokesperson for the management of GLOBUS Markthallen. “In addition to saving resources, this service will create more security and transparency for our customers in the administration, overview and storage of cash receipts in the future. ”
In the personal customer account of the GLOBUS app and on the globus.de website, the digital receipt can be viewed at any time for a total of four years. The documents can be filtered by year and month in the archive or saved as “favorites”. The electronic receipts can also be downloaded and printed out as a PDF. This allows GLOBUS customers to always keep an eye on their purchases.
“With GLOBUS, a great retail partner is using anybill for digitizing receipts. With the help of our technologies, GLOBUS was able to establish an additional channel for valuable customer interactions in addition to saving thermal paper. GLOBUS is setting a decisive example for food retailers and is setting the course for digitization and omni-channel strategies, i.e. towards the future,” says Lea Frank Co-Founder and CEO at anybill.
This is how the electronic receipt is activated
The digital receipt is an additional service of the my GLOBUS customer program. In order to participate in the offer, GLOBUS customers must first activate this service in their personal my GLOBUS customer account on the GLOBUS website or in the GLOBUS app under “Profile”. This service is also available for PAYBACK card holders. However, this requires first linking the PAYBACK customer account with the personal my GLOBUS customer account. Interested parties can find further information on the GLOBUS website globus.de/bon or in the GLOBUS app under “Cash receipt”.

About GLOBUS
The roots of GLOBUS Markthallen Holding GmbH & Co. KG lie in St. Wendel in Saarland: In 1828, Franz Bruch founded a small colonial goods store there, which quickly developed into a wholesaler and in the 1960s into a cash & carry market. In 1966, the first large-scale consumer market opened in Homburg-Einöd. The 1980s saw the founding of Globus Baumärkte and, with German reunification, the company expanded first to Eastern Germany, a little later to the Czech Republic and in the early 2000s to Russia. As managing director of GLOBUS Holding, Matthias Bruch is now managing the family business in the sixth generation.
GLOBUS is successfully one of the “small among the big” in the German retail landscape and differs significantly from typical food chain stores: The focus is particularly on in-house production, freshness and quality. In GLOBUS's own master bakeries, specialist butchers, sushi bars and restaurants, real craftsmen prepare a variety of foods themselves by hand on site every day. Regional and local partnerships play another central role at GLOBUS: Each market works with up to 100 producers and craft businesses from the region. The range is complemented by home-related non-food items as well as a variety of services and events. Living responsibility for people and nature is a matter of course at GLOBUS. This includes commitment to sustainable partnerships, products and supply chains as well as regional support for associations, schools and social institutions. The activities of the GLOBUS market halls are complemented by the projects of the non-profit Globus Foundation. It helps young people to open their eyes to their own talents and abilities and to shape a self-determined life. In addition to integration into working life, the Globus Foundation focuses on improving medical care and education and training for children and young people in regions where people need support.
